Angela Drakeford completes epic Spine Race in aid of MOBIE

She only went and did it!

In June, Angela Drakeford of a+a property stagers took on the Montane Full Summer Spine Race – 270 miles up the Pennine Way from Edale to Kirk Yetholm in 155 hours, day and night, and all in aid of MOBIE. What an achievement! Congratualtions Angela, and thank you!

The race is unsupported, which meant Angela had to carry all her kit with her with no outside help. Angela says that she went though major sleep deprivation (just 12 hours over a whole week), burning blisters, but also the most stunning sunrises and sunsets. Angela also says:

“This was always going to be a difficult journey but to run it for MOBIE helped me in my darkest moments to reach the tight timed cut off points thrown at us along the way. It's been an honour to help such a fantasitc charity in their quest to make the future of our housing a brighter one, inspiring young people to design, build and live sustainably and create communities we all need.
Thank you for all your support. It really helped me get to the finish line and hobble to the Border Inn to kiss the wall, as per race tradition.

Thank you Angela for all your support. We are delighted you chose to support MOBIE. Angela is 90% of the way to her fundraising target of £1000. You can still donate by following this link
