MOBIE wins Inspire Future Generations award
MOBIE has won the 'Best Established Not for Profit Organisation' at the Inspire Future Generations awards created by the Thornton Education Trust.
Young people have a vested interest in their own neighbourhoods, yet they are often not part of the long-term engagement process. To ensure that young people’s voices are heard, it is essential to create opportunities for them to engage in the design process. The Awards, now in their third year, are designed to bring together a new ‘community of practice’ and recognise and celebrate the excellent projects and programmes, energy and passions of the many organisations working with young people in the built environment.
MOBIE is all about young people defining what they want home design and innovation to be like in the future - we exist to give them a voice. So, we are delighted to have won this award.
The judges said, ‘the challenges created by MOBIE inspire young people across the UK to share their ideas on the future of homes, places and the built environment’.
Thank you to all our partners, past and present, for their support - without their belief in actively engaging young people in the built environment and giving them the skills they need for the future we would not have positively impacted on so many young people nor won this award.
