Mobie’s Very First Degree Show at Teeside University
On Wednesday 21st August we held the first ever MOBIE degree show event celebrating the work of our pioneering students at Teesside University graduating from our MSc Advanced Homes Futures course. The show was superbly hosted at the Middlesbrough Institute of Contemporary Art (MIMA). Ten students graduated with an amazing display of talent and innovative housing design projects featuring drawings, CAD, models, and video.
The students, Raed Allawi, Emma Bidgood, Emma Elliot, Phillip Gibbins, Jessica Hughes-Morton, Rachel Jones, Zoe Lainton, Darragh O’Keeffe, Nizhen Phang and Kiavash Sotoudeh, met with George and discussed their projects during the afternoon and in the evening showcased their work to over one hundred invited guests accompanied by a generous array of canapes and jugs of Pimms.
George Clarke Tweeted “Amazing, Amazing, Amazing. The first ever MOBIE graduates. Their work is brilliant, I’m so proud of the students and everything they have achieved”. He then presented each of the graduates with a framed, signed certificate welcoming them to the MOBIE Community and acknowledging their unique status as the inaugural MOBIE students.
A huge thank you not just to the students and Richard Sober, the course leader, but everybody involved with the MSc’s development and delivery for their commitment, determination and shear hard work achieving so much and making the course so successful. Also a massive debt of gratitude to Teesside University for so bravely committing to this innovative and ground-breaking programme. We are already looking forward to September with the new cohort joining the MSc Advanced Home Futures along with its exciting new complimentary BSc first degree, Innovative Home Design & Construction.
